ABOUT

Shared optimism even through struggles…

We’re Kevin and Ana, partners for over a decade.

We began dating in our twenties, built our careers in public service, purchased our first home, and married in a celebration surrounded by loved ones. With our foundation in place, we looked forward to starting a family.

After nearly a decade of trying without success, we sought guidance from a fertility clinic. Extensive testing revealed no major clinical obstacles, along with genetic analysis we confirmed no observable complications that should prevent parenthood. Encouraged by our doctor’s optimism, we proceeded with IVF.

Across three cycles, we created over 16 mature embryos suitable for transfer. We experienced two clinical pregnancies. They were brief but deeply meaningful moments of hope. Yet the pregnancies never progressed beyond the six weeks.

Following our most recent cycle of IVF, two prospective embryos remain. Our doctor recommended surrogacy as the next step, marking what feels like the most intricate and hopeful phase of our journey so far.

We created this blog to document it our experience.

Why We’re Sharing

This space serves as a personal record. A way for us to reflect on the experiences, emotions, and milestones along the way. Putting our thoughts into words (and pictures) helps us process the challenges, acknowledge the grief of loss, and hold onto the gratitude we feel for every step forward.

We also wanted a meaningful way to keep close friends and family connected to our story, should they wish to follow along. Infertility and the path to surrogacy can feel solitary at times, even with strong support nearby. By sharing openly here, we want to provide an authentic glimpse into the realities of the medical processes, the waiting, the emotional highs and lows, and the appreciation we have for those who have stood by us.

Above all, we hope to one day share these pages with our child. Reading them together will allow us to recount the long road we traveled, the love and resilience that sustained us, and the joy that ultimately brought us together as a family.

What to Expect

We intend to keep the content honest and straightforward. There will be no glossing over difficult moments, but we will also highlight the hope, small victories, and sources of strength that carry us through.

  • Our stories will cover:
Preparations for surrogacy, including matching, legal considerations, and medical steps
  • Reflections on our IVF cycles, the pregnancies we lost, and the lessons we’ve gained
  • The emotional landscape—joy, uncertainty, patience, and gratitude
  • Updates as our journey progresses
  • Appreciation for the doctors, professionals, and loved ones supporting us

We are not experts. We are simply two people committed to this path, guided by love, perseverance, and faith in what lies ahead. Whether you’re here to offer support, share in our hope, or just curious, we are grateful for your presence.

Thank you for being part of this journey with us.
